CONGRATULATIONS! You are now in 2010, what a futuristic
date to Boomers. Many thought they would never see the year 2000. Now that a
new decade has begun, how do you feel? Are you
prepared to thrive in the next third of your life? If so,
read on!
I recently went on a little five-day junket to Laughlin,
Nevada. You may know the drill: Load a bunch of retired or semi retired folks
on a plane, fly out for four days and come back. Most of these folks are
within five years (older or younger) of me. Boy, they sure looked old! Many
were having trouble walking. Many were overweight. Some were in
wheelchairs. What a sight!
The good news is most of
us don't need to age that way. To start, pick up a book
titled Younger Next Year, by Chris Crowley and Henry S. Lodge M.D.
M.D. This book addresses everyone over 50 who knows the last third of your
life is about to begin.
I found it a great wake-up call for me. I also recently started using the Wii
Active program. You may think a Wii is just for fun and games, but believe
me, it is quite a workout! I even started the "cookie diet" after my
girlfriend's father lost more than 50 pounds on it!
The results of all this? For years I've been trying to
drop 10 - 20 pounds. I would get to 170 and just couldn't get any lower.
With the book to feed my mind, the cookies to control my hunger and the Wii
personal trainer, I lost 10 pounds in just two months! Best of all, I have
the energy I need to enjoy the lifestyle I want.
Remember, it is your life
and you can choose how you want to live it. You take care of
your finances, your business and your family. Take care of yourself, too.
Without good health, life can be a bitch!
I know 2010 is going to be a great year. The extra
energy I have is helping me gear up for a busy first quarter. I'm working
with commercial real estate buyers who are ready to get some
great properties at very reduced values.
I hope you decide to come with me on the journey to physical and financial
wellness.
